As we move toward the last few weeks of the 2023/2024 school year, we have much to reflect upon, and even more to look forward to.
We have been blessed to follow the growth of our students and their children. We are excited to share in their journeys as we they continue working towards their academic goals, and while they become confident and caring parents.
The last few weeks are busy ones. Not only do we have the traditional winding down of classes and exams, we also have some exciting opportunities to round out the school year. We had our Celebration of Learning on May 13, and students will be going on field trips to Jumping Pound Conservation Area on May 16, and to a National Geographic Presentation at Arts Commons on May 28th. On June 26 we will celebrate the graduating class of 2024.
As we continue to prepare to make the transition to our new location, we are honored to have Elder Saa’kokoto guide us on our journey. There is much we can learn from his wisdom around the importance of moving camp, of honoring the past, and embracing the future. With his guidance we will successfully make this move, recognizing we owe much to the students and teachers who have passed through these doors, and putting our faith in those who will be become part of the new future of the Louise Dean School. While we may be sad to be saying goodbye to the physical structure, we are excited to be taking the LD spirit to our new home.
During the remaining 6 weeks of school we encourage all students to work with their teachers for this final push. Finish projects, complete course work, and engage in credit recovery. While the time is short, there are still many opportunities to work towards credits to achieve high school completion.
Kindest wishes,
Tania
